After the paint has been applied, remember that for the best effect, the fabric must be washed without fabric softener. When you have finished painting, the material can be heat-fixed for 5 minutes in a 150-degree oven, then it is ready to be washed at 40 degrees in the washing machine.

However, fabric paint does not work on synthetic materials such as:

• Acrylic
• Polyester
• Elastane

Although these synthetic materials can be extremely difficult to paint on, there are specialized paints for these types of materials. These paints are specially designed to bond the synthetic fibers better and can therefore be washed without fading. Since these custom paints are made from synthetic colors, they can be used for synthetic materials. So make sure to double check if the paint can be used on synthetic surfaces.
