Drops Lima yarn from Garnstudio - a delicious and versatile yarn

Drops Lima yarn is a luxurious blend of 65% wool and 35% alpaca. The properties of these two materials ensure, first and foremost, a super soft and comfortable yarn that appeals to everyone. In addition, the blend of the two materials ensures a yarn that is hardwearing and durable. Drops Lima is spun from 4 strands, which further enhances it. Due to its many delicious yet strong properties, Drops Lima yarn goes under the category of sports yarn. Sports yarn is the term for those yarn qualities that can withstand a little extra set compared to regular yarn qualities, making them perfect for outdoor knitting, for example.

The yarn fibres in Drops Lima are untreated. This means that the yarn is only washed before dyeing and is thus not subjected to chemical treatment. This enhances the natural properties of wool and alpaca, while ensuring better dimensional stability and texture. The more firmly you knit with this quality, the better the good surface properties and shape stability are emphasised. Recommended knitting needles are 4 mm. For variation and a denser surface, Drops Lima yarn can be used to advantage for felting.

A luxury sport quality like this will last longer the better you care for it. As a retailer of Drops Lima yarn, we therefore recommend that you follow the washing instructions, which are to hand wash at a maximum of 30°C and then dry flat.

Drops Lima yarn from Garnstudio is produced in Peru.

Drops Lima yarn for every occasion, every style and every season

The many and delicious properties of Drops Lima make this quality perfectly suited for outdoor knitting such as sweaters, vests, hats, mittens and much, much more in just the design you like. If you fall in love with the yarn, you can also use it outside the cold seasons - the beautiful colour card invites you to use the yarn all year round.

The beautiful colour chart consists of both mix colours and unicolour colours. The characteristic of unicolour is that the four threads are solid. The result with Drops Lima unicolor colours is therefore even and harmonious. The individual colour is allowed to shine through no matter which colour you want. For example, if you are knitting a spring collection, you will find bright and delicate colours like white, off white or dusty pink. If, on the other hand, you are knitting for winter and therefore want darker colours, Drops Lima's colour card also includes black, dark blue or moss green. The choice is yours and only your imagination sets the limits.

If, on the other hand, you want a more varied but still even look, go for Drops Lima mix colours. The characteristic of these colours is a fine and harmonious mix effect. This mix effect is created because the colours are carded together before the yarn is spun. For example, if you want to knit with Drops Lima yarn in a green mix colour, you will see that the yarn is a fine and delicate mix of green shades, which are close to each other. In the same way, the mix colour grey is a nice mix of fine grey shades.

There are colours for every style. You can choose to use a Drops Lima color on its own, or you can mix and match unicolor and mix with each other. The choice is entirely up to you!
