Free crochet dishcloth pattern: crocheted cloths in 21x21cm and 28x28cm
If you’re looking for a quick crochet project, these crochet cloths may be the next project for you. The cloths are square and crocheted with basic masks and a variation of the bar mask shown in the image guide. The result is a cloth of 21x21cm and one of 28x28cm, which is shown in the picture. You can change the size yourself if you want them larger or smaller than the pattern. The cloths are suitable as hostess gifts or for those who want to add a personal touch to your kitchen.

21 x 21 cm and 28 x 28 cm
Material
Infinity Hearts Rose 8/4. Contains 100% cotton. Yarn weight and length 50 g = approx. 176 m.
Yarn requirement:
Small dishcloth (21x21cm): 1 key of colour 156 Green
Large dishcloth (28x28cm): 2 keys of colour 235 Grey
Crochet hook: No. 3.50 mm
Abbreviations
Ch = chain stitch
Sc = single crochet
Tr = treble
SS-tr = Spike Stitch (spike stitch made as treble instead of double crochet)
Method
Small dishcloth (21x21 cm)
Cast on 49 ch + 1 ch to turn with (50) and turn
- Start in 2 stitches from needle * 1 sc, 1 tr * all the way - 1 sc in the last stitch and finish with 1 ch, turn
- * 1 ss-tr, 1 tr* all the way - 1 ss-tr in last stitch and finish with 1 ch, turn
Continue the above two rows, alternating * 1 sc, 1 sc * and * 1 ss-tr, 1 tr * until you have a total of 45 rows (including your first-row ch) or until you have achieved the desired length.
Large dishcloth (28x28 cm)
Cast on 69 ch + 1 ch to turn with (70) and turn
- Start in 2. stitches from needle * 1 sc, 1 tr * all the way - 1 sc in the last stitch and finish with 1 ch, turn
- * 1 ss-tr, 1 tr * all the way - 1 ss-tr in last stitch and finish with 1 ch, turn
Continue the above two rows, alternating * 1 sc, 1 tr * and * 1 ss-tr, 1 tr * until you have a total of 63 rows (including your first-row ch) or until you reach the desired length.
The dishcloth can be made both larger and smaller than the two above sizes as long as an equal number of chain stitches is made in the first row.
