Crocheted headband

With this free crochet pattern, you can make your own headband and the perfect earmuff for winter. The headband is made with Mayflower Molly, which is a nice and soft wool yarn. The yarn is thick, making this headband a quick project. The crochet pattern for this lovely headband is easy to follow and is suitable for beginners as well as experienced crocheters.

ch = chain stitch 
s = stitch
htr = half treble
 

Measurements 

Small measures approx. 46 cm in circumference

Medium measures approx. 50 cm in circumference

Large measures approx. 54 cm in circumference 

The headband does stretch.

Instructions

The instructions are for a size large.

Small: instead of 2x10 rows htr, you make 2x8

Medium: instead of 2x10 rows htr, you make 2x9

1. Cast on 6 ch + 2 ch that you use to turn (8 in total)

2. Make htr in 2nd s from the hook. Finish the row with 2 ch

3. Make 10 rows

4. Now, you begin the twist.

3 htr + 2 ch

5. Make 8 rows and finish the row

6. Draw through the stitch on the side of the piece.

7. Cross the two pieces over each other and insert the crochet hook into the right side.

8. Make 1 ch and 3 htr

9. Insert the hook in the other piece and make 3 htr in the 2nd ch

10. Make 9 rows htr – remember to make 2 ch for turning.

11. Sew the two ends together.
