Decorative names with yarn and wire

If you are looking for a quick project that you can do with your children, or if you need an idea for a hostess gift, this will be perfect for that! You do not need to be a master of knitting or sewing to get started on this project. All you need is motivation, and if you follow this guide, you will quickly be on your way.

At Ritohobby.co.uk we have used two balls of our Infinity Hearts Lotus to get a beautiful colour combination. If you want more colours to choose from, you can use Infinity Hearts Rose 8/4 where you will find 50 different colours! You can also simply choose to use a single colour of yarn that’s a bit thicker - for example, Infinity Hearts Amigurumi.

Materials

Instructions:

Make a loop on the yarn

Attach the loop around one of the pins on the wonder knitter and pull the end of the yarn through the hole of the wonder knitter

Counter-Clockwise, pull the yarn around the next pin.

Continue to pull the yarn around the remaining pins.

Then, pull the yarn around the pin where you already attached the loop.

Insert your needle into the bottom loop

With the needle, you lift the lower loop over the top loop and pin

Repeat point 3-7 and pull on the end as you go. It makes the job easier by straightening it out

Form the wire how you like. You can then tell how long your tube needs to be. It’s a good idea to bend the ends of the wire so it won’t poke out

When you have reached the length you want, simply cut the yarn and thread a needle

Insert the needle into one of the loops and gently pull the yarn through the loop. Do this on all the loops.

When you have gathered all the loops the yarn, gently lift them off the pins and pull the tube out of the wonder knitter.

Pull the knitted tube over the alu-wire and close both ends of the tube.

Feel free to use #ritokrea and #ritohobby when you share photos of your finished project on social media, so we can see the final product :-)
