Guide: Make your own dream catcher

A dream catcher can catch all the bad dreams with its net. All the good dreams can slip through the holes and down the strings towards you. When the sun rises and hits the dream catcher, it melts the bad dreams and they disappear completely. The dream catchers in this post were created by the publisher Drømmejunglen for their book launch, Drømmefangeren.

Instructions

Step 1: Now you will start making your very own Dream Catcher. In this blog post you can get inspiration for the parts you need from our great selection.

Step 2: Find: scissors, ring, string, feathers and beads.

Step 3: If you like, use some fabric yarn or ribbon to wrap around the ring to cover it. If you think the ring is fine as it is, you can skip step 3. Cut a suitable length of string and cover the ring.

TIP: Change the string as you go. This way you can make a ring in several colours. There are many great colours to choose from here on our site.

Step 4: Now it's time to make the pattern you'd like. Use the cotton yarn and get started! Here it's important to tighten the string well as you weave the net around the ring. You may need to get an adult to help tighten it.

Step 5: You can choose to attach beads to the string while you weave your dream catcher pattern. When the moon's rays hit the beads, they will glisten beautifully. There are beads in glass, wood and plastic for you to choose from.

Step 6: Now you need to make the strings that hang under the net itself. You decide how many strings to attach, how long they should be and how to accessorize. Use your imagination and make just the dream catchers you want.

Step 7: Attach a string to the top of your dream catcher and decide where you'd like to hang it in your room.

We'd love to see your beautiful dream catcher! Maybe you can get some help from your parents to take a picture of the dream catcher and share it on instagram with the hashtag #mydreamcatcher.

Have a great sleep, greetings Anna & Julie from Drømmejunglen.
