Viscose Jersey Solid can be washed in the washing machine. However, in order to preserve the elasticity of the fabric, we recommend that you machine wash it at a maximum of 30°C. In addition, there are some other aspects that are worth paying attention to when working with Viscose Jersey.

When drawing your pattern, keep the elasticity in mind to make sure you achieve the correct and desired shape. It is better that your finished product is a little too tight and has the possibility to give afterwards than that the material is too loose in advance.

Sewing

In relation to the actual sewing process with the fabric, it is important to remember that Viscose Jersey is knitted and not woven. This means that the material consists of a lot of small stitches. These stitches risk running if you, for example, cut the fine thread with the sewing needle. It is therefore best to use rounded needles to avoid any holes.

Special stitches

In order to give your projects the best elasticity, you may need to use special stitches when using your sewing machine. That way, the seams are guaranteed to stretch with the fabric. We can recommend overlock stitches for this purpose.
