When it comes to being creative with little ones, it's first and foremost a fun project. It's something we should do together and have fun with, but maybe we can also have fun, be creative AND learn at the same time.
We believe you can do both. That's why we have the whole alphabet in our range. The letters are made of wood and are ideal as part of the family's creative outlet and then as decorations for the children's room or as art on the family's shelves in the living room.
What can I do with large wooden letters?
Big, beautiful wooden letters have become really popular as creative pursuits take off at home. They're fun to decorate and really cute and effective to have in the kids' room.
When it comes to decorating the letters, you can do it on your own or with the kids during creative time around the dining table at home. Some obvious decorations could be:
- Paint
- Decoupage
- Posca markers
- Beads and sequins
- Fabric
There's pretty much no limit to what you can decorate the cute letters with, so get out the creative box and get inspired to make the whole alphabet look its best. When you're done, you can put them just where you like.
Wooden letters for decoration
These beautiful letters are great for decorating, but not just at home, they're also a great idea for gifts or decorating. Especially for baby showers, wooden letters are great to use as decorations or as a gift for your child that can stay in their room for years to come.
You can also use them for a wedding, where the new couple take each other's surname. The new surname in decorated letters makes a really sweet gift that will remind you of a wonderful day every time your eyes fall on them.
Wooden letters for shelf
Shelves, bookcases and other surfaces are obvious places to keep wooden letters when they are decorated. With a length of 10 cm and a height of 4 mm, it is a good size that is neither too big nor too small. The letters are carved from wood and have beautiful, rounded shapes that are classic and fit in with the vast majority of interiors.
Especially in the children's room, the letters are a nice addition to the decor. Place them on a bedside shelf and let your child get used to the letters in their name from a very early age. The letters are fun for the little ones, but also for those who are moving away from home.
Wooden letters for the wall
If you don't want the letters on a shelf, the size in our range is also suitable for hanging on the wall without drilling holes and putting in screws. The small wooden letters can be easily attached to the wall with either adhesive pads or mouldable adhesive.
Again, it's a really cosy and decorative way to adorn the walls and also create identity and belonging for the little ones - and for the older ones.
Can adults keep wooden letters?
We think so! It's not just in the nursery or at a baby's birthday party that these pretty letters are an obvious choice. There's a whole host of other exciting uses for the letters in adults' living rooms and bedrooms too.
We think it's really beautiful to use the letters in the hallway, for example, where the family surname can adorn the wall above the jackets. It gives the feeling of coming home and belonging. Here you can either use the letters with their raw wooden surface or decorate them to suit your family.
It's also a fun option to hang your favourite quote on the wall in the bedroom or above the sofa in the living room. It can create a nice, positive atmosphere while helping to emphasize your personal style. If you don't want to hang the letters directly on the wall, decorating them and gluing them on a canvas is also an exciting idea.
This way, you create a picture with texture and depth that can easily be moved to a new location or brought into a new home.
Decoupage and decoration of wooden letters
We have all the tools and creative products you need to decorate your letters. It can be a fun idea to let the family decorate each letter and put them together to make a word or name that is yours.
Decorate with paint
Painting those cute letters is a no-brainer, and we've got a huge range of acrylic paints in bright, cheerful colours to give your letters the prettiest finish.
Decorate with sequins, pearls and glitter
If you want full glitter on your letters, you'll need a good, child-friendly glue. You'll find it in our range, of course. Apply the glue to small areas at a time and decorate with whatever beads, sequins and glitter you can find.
Decorate with decoupage
This is a bit like papier-mâché as we know it from shaping lessons at school, but it's a bit more refined and the result is a bit more polished. It requires a good glue, paper, glossy pictures or cut-outs and finally a good, strong and sturdy varnish to seal the work. Put glue on the letter and make an exciting collage of pictures and cuttings. Trim the edges with a sharp hobby knife and apply a coat of varnish.
As well as the ideas above, you can use just about anything else to decorate your letters. Explore our creative universe and find what you need to make your letters.
