Applying foil - How-to guide

Foil can be used in many different ways and on many different surfaces. It is an easy and manageable way to create a nice, smooth and clean surface. However, it takes a little practice to place the self-adhesive foil neatly and create a completely smooth surface without bubbles or folds. With a few tips and a steady hand, you can easily create the clean and shiny look you dream of.

How to get started

The most important thing is that you have a clean and smooth surface to work on. It should preferably be a surface that has no bumps, cracks, fissures or the like. If in doubt, it is always a good idea to do a test before you start removing the protection from your entire foil sheet, otherwise, it can easily become a bit of a mess.

The first thing you need to do is clean and wipe your surface so that there is no dirt or grime on it. Then you cover it in soapy water. It's the soapy water that allows you to work with the foil and makes it completely smooth before it finally adheres.

Now you need to carefully use a scraper or a tool specifically for this task to smooth out the entire surface. Once it's done and you've squeezed out all the bumps, just let it dry completely before touching it. You now have a perfectly foiled surface.
