Pattern
Pattern - 2x2 rib:
The hat is worked in 2x2 rib: k2, p2.
The hat:
Co 64 s with Italian cast on using circular needle 5 mm (40 cm). Italian cast on results in an almost invisible, flexible cast on. If you are not familiar with this cast on method, you can find tutorials on YouTube.
Work 2 rw like this:
Rw 1 (ws): “K1, sl1p with yarn in front” repeat from “ to “ until 2 s remain, k1, p1.
Rw 2 (rs): “K1, sl1p with yarn in front” repeat from “ to “ until 2 s remain, k1, p1.
Work in the round from now on. In order to work 2x2 rib, some of the s need to be swapped like this:
“K1. 2 s are swapped (insert the right needle knitwise into the 2nd s and slip it along with the 1st s - then put the two s back on the left needle). K1 tbl, p1 tbl, p1. “ Repeat from “ to “ throughout the rd.
Work 2x2 rib in the round, until the work measures 25 cm. If you want to make a larger crown, continue working in the round, until the desired length is reached.
Place 4 markers from the beg of the rd like this:
5 s, marker, 16 s, marker, 16 s, marker, 16 s, marker, 11 s. All markers are now placed between 2 k s.
Now the decreases at the crown are worked.
Rd 1: “Work 2x2 rib according to the s until 2 s before next marker, k2tog, move marker to right needle, sl2k one s at a time, twist them and put them back on the left needle, k2tog tbl.” Repeat from “ to “ throughout the rd.
Repeat rd 1 a total of 4 times.
Work 1 rd in 2x2 rib according to the s.
Repeat rd 1 a total of 3 times. 8 s remain on the needle. Cut off the yarn and pull the thread through the s. Tighten and pull the end of the thread through the hole in the top. Weave in the end on the ws.
