Instructions

Using two strands of yarn, cast on 54 sts on needle size 7 mm, p one round.

Knit Rib pattern 1, this is folded up at the end.

Rib pattern 1:

Round 1: *p2, k1*, repeat for the entire round.

Round 2: p all stitches.

Work rounds 1 and 2 6 times in total = 12 rounds.

Next round: knit – this will be the folding edge of the hat, rest of the work is measured from here.

Start working Rib pattern 2

Rib pattern 2:

Round 1: *k2, p1*, repeat for the entire round.

Round 2: k all stitches.

Work rounds 1 and 2 6 times in total = 12 rounds, this will be the inside of the folded edge.

Change to needle 9mm, or the needle you need to achieve the correct knitting tension, continue in established pattern (Rib pattern 2) until hat measures approx. 20cm from folding edge, round 2 is last round.

Decrease round 1:

*k2tog, p1* repeat for the entire round = 36m

Next round: knit

Decrease round 2:

*k2tog* repeat for the entire round = 18m

Next round: knit

Decrease round 3:

*k2tog* repeat for the entire round = 9 sts

Break the yarn. Pull the thread through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten.
