Abbreviations
dc - double crochet stitches
sl st - slip stitch
inc - increase (2 stitches in the same stitch)
Instructions
Start by making 6 dc in a magic ring
- Inc x 6 (12)
- 1 dc, inc x 6 (18)
- 1 dc, inc x 9 (27)
To create the right shape for the moon, you now need to make a lot of extra increases.
- Inc x 2, 5 dc, inc, 4 dc, inc x 4, 4 dc, inc, 4 dc, inc x 2 (37)
- Inc x 2, 1 dc + inc x 8, inc, 1 dc + inc x 9 (57)
- Inc x 2, 11 dc, inc, 12 dc, inc x 4, 12 dc, inc, 12 dc, inc x 2 (67)
- Inc x 2, 29 dc, inc x 4, 30 dc, inc x 2 (75)
You now have the right shape, and you just need to add some more volume to the moon â so now you make 2 rounds of dc.
Finish the round with a sl st and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail (approx. 40cm).
Now the moon just needs to be sewn together. Fold it in the middle and sew the edge stitches together.
When you are approx. halfway through, you stuff it with fiberfill and make sure to get in into the tips of the moon.
Sew the rest of the moon together and stuff it well before closing it entirely.
Weave in the end and cut.
