Abbreviations
s = stitch(es)
k = knit
p = purl
RS = right side
WS = wrong side
Pattern
NB: The headband is worked in the flat with two threads.
With two threads, cast on 15 s and p the first row like this: Slip the first s with yarn in front as if you were to p it, p until 1 s remains, k1. The first and last s are edge s.
Now work the headband in the following pattern:
Row 1 (RS): Slip the first s with yarn in front as if you were to p it, p1, "k2, p1" - repeat from " to " until 1 s remains, k1.
Row 2 (WS): Slip the first s with yarn in front as if you were to p it, p until 1 s remains, k1.
Repeat rows 1-2, until the work measures approx 50 cm. End with row 2. Bind off and sew the ends neatly together.
Cast on 15 sts with two threads and follow the same procedure as for the headband, until the work measures approx 4 cm. Bind off. Fold this knitted piece around the headband. Sew the short sides neatly together on the back. You can also sew the knitted piece onto the headband with 1 s on each side to make sure that it stays in place.
Finishing
Weave in the ends, wash and block - if necessary.
The Classy Headband has a stylish design that fits every head regardless of the colour of the yarn.
