Bobble Dream Socks for Newborns

Size

Suitable for newborns from 0-1 month old.

Length:12cm from the wave edge. Circumference: 9cm.

Tools/Materials

• Yarn: Infinity Hearts Baby Merino
• Knitting Needles: 2.5mm circular needles (optional size), 2.5mm double pointed needles – if you want bigger socks, you can switch to a larger needle size.

Instructions

Cast on 100 stitches on 2.5mm circular needles. You now work back and forth in the first rounds.

Round 1: Purl the entire round.

Round 2: K2tog the entire round.

Round 3: Purl the entire round.

Round 4: K2tog the entire round.

You should now have 25 stitches on the rows again. Close 1 stitch when you switch to 2.5mm double-pointed needles. 24 stitches again (6 stitches on each row). You now work in the round. This sock is made without a heel.

Start the bobble pattern.

Bobble pattern:

Round 1-5: Knit stocking stitches.

Round 6: K3 *count 5 stitches down and knit this stitch, slip stitch, K3* continue this for the rest of the round.

Round 7-11: Knit stocking stitches.

Round 12: K1 *count 5 stitches down and knit this stitch, slip stitch, K3* continue this for the rest of the round.

Work bobble pattern 11 times in total. Finish with one knit round.

Finishing:

After working 11 rows of bobble pattern, you finish like this:

Round 1: K2tog the entire round.

You now again have 12 stitches on the needles.

Use a needle and bring the strand through the working stitches. Tighten the strand and fasten it on the inside of the sock.
