Bobble Dream Mittens for Newborns

Size

Suitable for newborns from 0-1 month old

Length: 10cm. Circumference: 10cm.

Tool/Materials

Yarn: 1 x Infinity Hearts Baby Merino

Knitting Needles: 3mm double pointed needles

 

Instructions

Cast on 24 stitches on 3mm double-pointed needles.

Work rib (K1, P1) for 3cm. Then knit 2 ridges.

1 ridge = 1 round knit and 1 round purl.

These mittens are knitted without the thumb.

Start the bobble pattern.

 

Bobble pattern:

Round 1-5: Knit stocking stitches

Round 6: K3 *count 5 stitches down and work this stitch, slip the stitch, K3* continue this for the rest of the round.

Round 7-11: Knit stocking stitches

Round 12: K1 *count 5 stitches down and knit this stitch, slip the stitch, K3* continue this for the rest of the round.

Work bobble pattern 6 times. Finish with one knit round.

 

Finishing the bobble pattern

When you have worked 6 rows of bobble pattern and 1 round knit, you now finish off like this:

Round 1: K2tog the entire round.

Use a needle and bring the strand through the working stitches. Tighten the strand and fasten on the inside of the mitten.
