Procedure

Lay the fabric double and place your round object on top..

Draw all the way around, and preferably with 1 cm seam allowance. If necessary, use a tape measure to get exactly 1 cm all the way around.

Cut out.

Fold one circle in half first. Fold again so it is a quarter. Press well, with an iron if necessary. Fold out again and with chalk mark the lines. With your ruler, draw two more lines so you now have a total of 8 lines out from the center.

Using 2.5 mm stitches, sew (on the front) all the lines.

Repeat with the second circle.

Place the circles right sides together and sew almost all the way around. Leave a turning gap of about 4 cm.

Place the circles right sides together and sew almost all the way around. Leave a turning gap of approx. 4 cm.

Cut notches in the seam allowance all around, except the seam at the turning hole. Do this so that the fabric can give enough to get the nice round shape when you turn right side out.

Turn the cushion out through itself and stuff it with craft filling.

Sew the hole closed with invisible stitches.

Thread a needle with decorative thread; the thread should lie double and you tie a knot at the bottom.

Stitch through the centre of your cushion and pull the string tight. Hold the thread down by the cushion and stick the needle back into the middle (but not in the same hole, you'll just end up unraveling what you just sewed). Tighten. Continue like this three more times.

If you like, make a knot with the string or sew in a button.

You're done.
