Procedure

Measure and cut a long piece of fabric 7.5 cm x 80 cm. If you want a shorter or longer chain, tailor it to your liking, but keep the 7.5 cm in width.

Cut a piece of vlieseline of 3.75 cm x 80 cm.

Fold the fabric in half and iron.

Iron your vlieseline to one half of the fabric.

Firstly, fold one side in towards the centre and then fold the other side in towards the centre.

- Fold the fabric in half (again). You now have both edge ends inside the key chain.

Insert your carabiner into the chain.

Now sew the two ends together to make a loop. Look at the picture to see how - remember to keep an eye on not twisting the chain and remember to lay the fabric right sides together so you are sewing on the wrong side.

Press the seam out to each side and iron your folds back into place so it all lays neatly.

Use clips or pins to hold it all in place, now sew.

Sew just under half a centimetre inside the chain on each side all the way round. Move the carabiner around as you sew.

Move the carabiner to where you want it to stay permanently. I have the sewing ends at the neck; when you fold the chain at the seams you can place the carabiner in the opposite fold.

Sew along your carabiner hook across the chain.

You're done.
