Christmas pattern for pom pom in embroidery thread

Pom poms are cute decorative elements that can add the finishing touch to your homemade creations. For example, you can decorate a hat or Santa hat with a colourful pompom on top. You can also use pom poms as unique decorative elements. Whichever way you want to use the pom poms, this guide will show you how to easily turn embroidery thread into cute pom poms.

Materials

• Embroidery thread
• Scissors

Procedure

1) Wrap the yarn around two of your fingers until you have a nice layer of thickness (the thicker, the stuffier or "fluffier" the pom pom will be.

2) Cut a piece of yarn about 20 cm long and thread it between your two fingers, as shown in the picture below.

3) Tie a knot. You can either do this yourself with one hand or by gently taking your wrapped ball of yarn off your fingers. You can also get someone else to help you. It is important that the string is tied in the middle of the wrapped yarn.

4) Tighten the knot well and clip both ends. You have now made your own pretty pom pom!
