Procedure

Work the bottom entirely in half double crochets.

Start by making 8 hdc in a magic ring

  • Inc x 8 (16)
  • 1 hdc + inc x 8 (24)
  • 2 hdc + inc x 8 (32)
  • 3 hdc + inc x 8 (40)
  • 4 hdc + inc x 8 (48)
  • 5 hdc + inc x 8 (56)
  • 6 hdc + inc x 8 (64)
  • 7 hdc + inc x 8 (72)
  • 8 hdc + inc x 8 (80)
  • 9 hdc + inc x 8 (88)
  • 10 hdc + inc x 8 (96)

If you want to make the large Anemone net, continue a for few more rounds.

  • 11 hdc + inc x 8 (104)
  • 12 hdc + inc x 8 (112)
  • 13 hdc + inc x 8 (120)

Once the bottom is done, continue with the sides.

Start by making a round of double crochets in the back loop, followed by a round of double crochets in both loops.

The rest of the net is not worked in rounds like so far, but in circles. Start by making 2 ch, one round of half double crochets - finish with an sl.

Make 3 rounds and repeat:

  1. round, start with 2 ch. Make one round of hdc, finish with a sl.
  2. round, start with 2 ch. Make a round of hdc, finish with a sl.
  3. round, start with 3 ch. Make one round of cross treble crochets, finish with a sl.

At the small Anemone net make 8 repetitions (24 rounds).

For the large Anemone net make 10 repetitions (30 rounds).

When you have done all the rounds of the net, do a few final rounds.

  • 3 rounds of hdc
  • 1 round of dc
  • 1 round sl

To start the next ball of yarn, tie the ends together and fasten the ends to the inside of the net.

THE HANDLE

Start by working double crochets around the slip stitch round. Work the handle in rows of double crochets - turn in 1 chain stitch.

  • Start first row with 1 decrease and finish with 1 decrease.
  • Start last row with 1 increase and finish with 1 increase.

THE SMALL ANEMONE NET

To find out where to attach the handle on the opposite side, you can place stitch markers at this stitch distribution: 12 - 36 - 12 - 36 (the 12 are where the handle is)

Make 12 dc down around the round with slip stitches, make 1 ch as reverse stitch:

  1. row, 1 dec - 8 dc - 1 dec, 1 ch as reverse stitch (10)
  2. Make 10 double crochets, 1 ch as reverse stitch
  3. Continue until the handle measures approx. 30 cm, or has the desired length

THE LARGE ANEMONE NET

To find out where to attach the handle on the opposite side, you can place stitch markers at this stitch distribution: 14 - 46 - 14 - 66 (the 14 are where the handle is)

Make 14 dc around the round with slip stitches, make 1 ch as a reverse stitch

  1. row, 1 dec - 10 dc - 1 dec, 1 ch as reverse stitch (12)
  2. Make 10 double crochets, 1 ch as reverse stitch
  3. Continue until the handle measures approx. 40 cm, or has the desired length

When the whole length of the handle is made, work the end on the opposite side.

Place the handle against the edge of the net, as shown in the picture below, and work the two together with double crochets, down around the slip stitch round.

Cut the yarn with a long end and weave through the stitches to get a nice even look.

Fasten the end.
