DROPS Alpaca Bouclé

DROPS Alpaca Bouclé yarn from Garnstudio consists of 80% alpaca, 15% wool and 5% polyamide which together create a soft and lovely yarn. Moreover, DROPS Alpaca Bouclé has a different look than many other types of yarn. Bouclé is French and means “loop” which explains why the yarn is different, because pure alpaca contributes with small loops in the yarn which makes creations made with DROPS Alpaca Bouclé look lovely woollen. The fact that the yarn is spun with two threads and has a core of wool and polyamide makes the yarn extra strong and suitable for many different patterns. Whether you want to treat yourself or someone you love with clothing made from DROPS Alpaca Bouclé, you can expect that the shape and texture of the clothing is highly satisfying due to the fact that the yarn is untreated. Untreated means that the yarn has only been washed and did not undergo any form of chemical treatment before the dyeing process. The beautiful effect achieved when working with DROPS Alpaca Bouclé is a result of the natural properties of the fibres.

For the spring and summer months, we offer many lovely light colours, while you can choose some darker colours for fall and winter. DROPS Alpaca Bouclé even comes in mix colours. In the mix colours, the wool has been produced by carding the colours together, before the yarn is spun. You can buy both dark and light mix colours, and the mix effect can add a little something extra to your creations.

The recommended needle size is 5 mm. One skein of DROPS Alpaca Bouclé weighs 50 g and has a length of 140 m. You can for instance make a pair of mittens or a shawl. The finished result can also be felted and obtain a denser look - let your imagination run wild! To care for your result in the best possible way, hand wash it at max 30°C and let it dry lying flat.
