Free Dream Catcher Pattern – Sirius
This lovely dream catcher is made with glitter thread and Shamrock yarns 100% mercerised cotton.
Shamrock yarn is a mercerised cotton that is super easy to work with. It is soft but also rather strong and thick, and you get a wide selection of colours so you can choose exactly the colour you want.
Measurements
The dream catcher measures 20cm in diameter, and you can make the hanging strands whichever length you want. For this dream catcher, I have used strands of 25cm and cut it a little bit.

Instructions
Start by making 10 ch, and join the chain stitch row with an sl st.
Make 3 ch and then 26 tr in the ch ring.
Begin each round with 3 ch and finish with an sl st in 3 ch.
- 1 tr in the same stitch as the 3 ch, 3 ch,
- Skip 1 stitch, 2 tr, 3 ch – the rest of the round
- 2 tr, 3 ch.
- 3 tr, 3 ch – the rest of the round
- 3 tr, 4 ch
- 4 tr, 4 ch – the rest of the round
- 4 tr, 5 ch
- 5 tr, 5 ch– the rest of the round
- 5 tr, 6 ch,
- 6 tr, 6 ch – the rest of the round
From now on you make sl st in the 2nd stitch on the next round, so the pattern leads inwards on both sides.
- 4 tr, 4 ch, dc around the chain, 4 ch
- 3 tr, 4 ch, dc around the chain, 4 ch,
- 4 tr, 4 ch, dc around the chain, 4 ch, -II- , the rest of the round
- 2 tr, 4 ch, dc around the chain, 4 ch, mv
- 3 tr, 4 ch, dc around the chain, 4 ch, -II- , the rest of the round
- 1 tr, 4 ch, dc around the chain, 4 ch
- 2 tr, 4 ch, dc around the chain, 4 ch, - II - , the rest of the round
Make dc around the metal ring and finish with sl st, so the ends are joined. Leave one of the ends long so you can make a loop – weave in the ends.
You now attach the dream catcher to the ring. Use stitch markers to place it evenly, and then sew it on securely. Lead the yarn through the double crochet stitches around the ring – so they won’t be visible.
Cut a bunch of long strands of yarn with glitter thread and tie them to the bottom of the dream catcher. You can use the same colour, with or without glitter, or you can choose to add a different colour.
For this dream catcher, I have added 2 different colours of yarn + 2 colours of effect thread.
