- 1 piece of Polar fleece fabric - it can be for example in the colour 013 Ochre
- Sewing thread matching the fabric - for example BSG Sewing thread 120 0272
- Sewing machine
- Possibly an overlocker but it is not a necessity
- Long ruler/patchwork ruler - for example this model
- Scissors
- Pins or clips - used to hold the fabric in place
- Chalk or coloured pencil
- Tape measure
- If necessary A4 paper
Procedure
1. Start by measuring the head that will use the ear warmer.
2. You can choose to draw a pattern on paper first, which you cut from the fabric, or you can use chalk/colour pencil to draw on the back of the fabric. Whichever you choose, the cut-out fabric should be 16 cm wide (seam allowance included) and have the length of the main measurement plus 2 cm for seam allowance. You can double-layer your fabric and cut half the main length plus 1 cm. You cut in one colour of fabric.
3. On the long side, fold right sides together and stitch all the way, BUT at both ends leave out 3-4 cm of stitching.
4. Turn the headband so you have the right side out.
5. Place the ends of the headband RIGHT SIDES together and pin/clip the fabric together.
6. Sew all the way across.
7. You now have a hole. Close this hole either on the sewing machine or with invisible stitches by hand.
8. Cut a rectangle of 14 x 6 cm from the second fabric sheet.
9. Fold lengthwise right sides together and sew all the way.
10. Turn right side out and fold one end over about 1 cm on the wrong side.
11. Tuck the other end in and sew with invisible stitches all the way around so the end stays down.
12. Turn the stitches over on the back.
