Soft toys, crocheted or knitted teddy bears take on a more vibrant look when you attach these safety eyes. This type of safety eye is typically used on the Japanese crochet style amigurumi, which has become very popular in the UK. The small crocheted figures of 5-10 cm are hard to resist.

Each eye is made of different colored plastic that looks like an eye with makeup and is shaped like a small screw. The screw itself measures 16 mm in diameter and has a light brown tab on the back, so the eye is 25 mm long. To attach the eyelet, simply twist the screw down through your finished crochet project. Then click and clamp the fastening mechanism at the back to secure the eyelet in place. This eliminates the need to sew on the eyes.
